This Lumi halogen conversion was just coming to the end, but one of the wires came away from the Cutter LED PCB. OK, bad soldering, I'll admit.
I had to give the joint a long hot burn with the soldering iron to get the joint wet and solid. The LED driver was still connected at the end of this short wire.
All previous test had produced a powerful beam from the driver, but this time the three LEDS lit up with a very modest glow.
I assume that the LEDS are still OK, because they all lit up to the same brightness.
PS. The is an 830mA driver, with an XRE triple and Cutter narrow.
. . . . . it was all looking so promising . . . Sigh.
