Doing a quick clean/wipe of your seals and a bit of lube on the foam rings takes 5 minutes! Put this into perspective when you're next watching X-Factor/Come Dine With Me for an hour every week and see whcih one is the bigger waste of time.
Have to agree on X-Factor, but Come Dine With Me is quite good telly...

I've got a set of 2005 fox 36 Talas R's that are fine still, the only real maintenance they had was to go back to mojo every 2 years for a service.
Maybe I dont ride as much as everyone else?
I now have a set of 2011 36's so will see how they fair.
Could the head angle of the bike have an effect on the wear? Ie the slacker the head angle the quicker the wear? Due to the minor extra 'bending' force there would be on bikes with slacker angles.
