... the "platinum" EX8? Not sure if its an aweful look or a grower?

Maybe I'll look at it again after a few pints...

I saw it in my LBS and in the flesh it looks good. To be honest I didn't like the raw look Ex9 to start with but it's grown on me. (Two guys I ride with have it)

Looks alright to me - and bound to look better in the flesh.

My 2010 Stumpjumper FSR was similar in that the catalogue pic made it look really flat& dull, but in the flesh it caught the light & the paint was spangly too...

^^^ it wasn't obvious we were meant to...

But, it looks ok too. Again, probably better in the flesh. Prefer the darker colour though, if having to choose.

With that white seat and stem it looks like the biking equivalent of a pimped up Citroen Saxo.

They've got one in my LBS, and it looks pretty damned good in the flesh in that colour.

Way better than the browns and beiges most of the previous models were!

Looks okay to me, i wouldn't buy it simply because it's a Trek though.

Nothing i'm sure with the bikes, it's just as a company i don't like them.

3's a crowd. Having three different colours(3 shades of grey aren't "different") on one thing, be it a mountain bike or a car, or even ones clothes looks bad. The "platinum" one looks pretty horrid imo.
