Need to paint a wooden chair and realise that I will probably need a tough finish on the actual seat to prevent (or at least damage limitation) against scratches, dirt and wiping clean.....any recommendations please?
I'm looking at the dulux eggshell paint - has anyone any real life experiences as to the durability of this paint?
Thanks
Floor paint?
Dulux Eggshell is decent enough as long as you buy the trade stuff. I have used it on furniture in the past.
More important than the paint though is how you apply it. Preparation, preparation, preparation is the key, making sure sand them down well and don't miss a spot, apply a coat of primer if the chairs are bare wood, use knotting if the wood needs it, use undercoat to get a decent covering then a couple of coats of eggshell to finish, always making sure the chair remains clean and grease free between coats. It's a PITA but is the best way to achieve a decent finish.
Thanks, and apologies for incorrect forum!
