Evening all, just got a couple of 27.5 hans dampfs of that auction site. Both labled Snakeskin but one hasn't the pattern and also has a different 27.5" marking. New version, manufacturing mistake or copy do you reckon?
Btw the one without is a 2.25, with is 2.35.
Is one a bit more rough looking on the side rather than weaves snakeskin? If so it's just a newer tyre. Still snakeskin but they've added some roughness to the tyre moulds to get the rubber to stick to it better so it stays where it's meant to be on the sidewalls.
Will have to look when I get back home. Felt pretty smooth as far as I remember. Must be as I thought all HDs had snakeskin.
Well its not shiny like the rest of the tyre, can't say there's any particular texture to it.
The pattern isn't necessarily a sign of snakeskin, ralph and nic snakeskin tyres don't have the pattern either
M Hans Dampf has the pattern as does my Fat Albert, my Nobby Nics do not.
