We need more girls like than in Mountain biking, that way the "girls to nutter" ratio will improve markedly...... 😉

You think the choice of rider was made to get more women into mountain biking? Given the bikini shot, I'd say that the sponsors know exactly who their target demographic is. 🙂

The next question is, will my blog be more popular if I include some gratuitous shots of myself at the beach?

I enjoyed that. A good bit of old fashioned "get out a map and explore" mountain biking. Nice work Hannah et al.

Very well filmed but the fun to faff ratio of those trails looks low.

I was a bit put off by the opening shot in her pants, then the bikini shot. What benefit does that give whatsoever, if anything it diminishes the fact it's a nice video with good scenery and she makes for a good presenter. Women in biking is a good thing, but can you realistically see them showing your average male biker in their boxers then going for a dip in their Speedos?

Another thing I liked was that it's brutally honest about how much biking in Scotland is either pushing or bog related. Maybe not ideal for a film supported by visitscotland though...

Here's another Barnes in his pants

No shortage of random Dudes swimming scenes either, though I didn't go looking for those as it might turn me.

Brilliant little film.

Brought back good memories of a 10 day Highlands & Islands mtb trip last year. The route that took us up past Coire Fionnaraich bothy & then on down back to Torridon was a particular highlight.

Must get back up there!

sniffy voice

Scotland's alright in May or June before the rain and the midges get going, especially when you've got a support crew, a comfy camper to sleep in and clean dry kit every day.

/sniffy voice

Lovely images though; I'll watch it properly on the Mac this evening.

I enjoyed it, but then I like just riding through places from point to point. Makes me want to go up there next year.

Hannah did present it well as well though next time maybe she could carry all her own kit for the full bikepacking experience.

Will be leaving bikini at home though....

How confusing, there are TWO cyclists called Hannah Barnes. The other is a very good roadie.

Says more about your attitudes TBH

What would you expect her to go swimming in?

What is the video selling? Scotland's riding? Her Five?

(You don't put that much effort into a vid for nothing, especially with sponsors on board)

Same person (she's been on the front cover of many cycle mags over the years)

I don't get the perving over Ms Barnes. The underwear and bikini shots just imply somebody who is comfortable in their own body and who likes a swim. She always seems pretty natural and I like her smooth style on a bike, but I can't really see her as a sex object. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Lovely scenery and nicely shot. Basically apart from Torridon none of the riding looked worth bothering with though. 🙂

It depends why you ride doesn't it? I thought the video was a nice reminder that mountain biking doesn't have to be all about the technical stuff. It's actually OK to just enjoy exploring a wild (or any) area on your bike.

It's the north sea, I'd recommend one of these:

agree with Roverpig. Sometimes it's good to get out there into the wilds and explore regardless of what the trails are like. Bonus if they're good.

You sure?
From hannahbarnes.com/? "I am a British based racing cyclist that rides for MG Maxifuel pro cycling team."

From http://www.hannahbarnes.co.uk/profile/
"I am a mountain bike racer, based in Fort William, Scotland. When I’m not away racing, I work as a nurse."
