Just building up a used fatbike with a halo tundra wheelset - tubed at the moment and is designed that way but wondered whether anyone experienced converting them to tubeless ?

Thanks

I've converted the sun ringle rims to tubeless on my cube Nutrail, just used duck tape (sticky side in), and covered that with gorilla tape. Was just about wide enough at approx 75mm. Stans valves and Stans fluid.
Your halo wheels can't be much different.

Bit of a write up on fatbike.de about the tundra wheelset. Click click

'0%. The Halo Tundra FATBike wheels are by no means prepared for tubeless riding. In this case also a conversion might become particularely difficult as the tire bead is extremely narrow. This is a handicap when is comes to sealing tape installation. Also there are no bead humps to secure the tire. Again the narrow bead is an issue: the tire can easily snap out of position in hard cornering which might lead to immediate loss of pressure. Unless you are a very experienced tubeless user, we don’t recommend tubeless installation here.'

I suspect you could still make them work, but perhaps try 'ghetto tubeless' as it may be more secure......Maybe.

I tried and failed the rim design similar to on one rim which is a problem too. I found even with a tube difficult to get tyre to pop onto place.

Scud has just done his ghetto tubeless using Scwalbe AV7D 20" BMX Schraeder tubes

It may or may not help you put here is a slideshow I put together of doing it on my Dune. It's a little bit unfinished at the end but me batteries ran out on my camera 😳

Basically, ingredients were;

24" tube
Coloured Ducktape
Argos camping mat £5 - I used weatherseal strip and foam between, but just foam alone is fine.
Stans fluid

I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of Tundras, they will be going tubeless with JJ's for the summer month(s). Here's how I did the On One rims - if it works with them, it'll work with anything. HTH.
