I'm on work related manouveres in Exeter tomorrow so was planning on throwing the bike in the back of the car and doing Haldon in the afternoon. (Can't hang around for the evening ride ๐Ÿ™ )

Is it worth it at the moment or will it be washed out and littered with bits of trees 'n sh*t after last night's storm?

Cheers,

Rich.

Surely

littered with bits of trees
makes it better?*

It's usually more interesting in the went and the trails usually hold up pretty well. The unmarked stuff could be quite 'exciting' given all the roots.

*Until I hit something and come off, of course.

sunshine and lollipops up here my friend. think i saw some rain in about april during daylight hours. the sun always shines on the exeter alp. we have naked virgins grooming the trails, sweeping up the leaves, and tamping down the tyre tracks of others that have been before you. they even give you a floral necklace as you enter the hub - bit like stepping off the plane in Hawaii. enjoy!

It was holding up pretty well on Sunday, but obviously the taps have turned on since then. Its probably still worth a spin, the marked stuff will be like a river but not really muddy.

Here's hoping or you'll be washing in the showers at the Ley Arms to 'warm up' ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was a tad moist and draughty as I passed over the alp via the northern col last night. The descent to the southern foothills was an interesting ride.
Expect a few trees to be down.

Cheers guys, I'll be up there for a quick circuit or two and late afternoon tea then.

I now see from Del's post ^^^ the real reason why he dropped out of the Alps trip - snapped headtube and broken bones my arse! He was busy reducing the number of forest dwelling virgins* whilst the competition was out of the country ๐Ÿ˜‰

*What's so great about virgins anyway? Aren't they usually rather young ๐Ÿ˜•

I've just returned from a very similar mission at the accursed place myself..

it was running very smooth and fast on the official stuff.. a few puddles but no discernible hazards..

as someone else has mentioned it's a tad moist and breezy up there.. but that only served to keep away the children and aminals that everyone moans about..
which was noice..

I was there yesterday morning and it was fine. In fact almost perfect on the trails. Off piste stuff looked a little moist however.
