Creaking forks, creak on the rear end somewhere and I've got a hamster wheel squeal type noise from somewhere too

When a bike makes that much noise on a ride after a shit day at work I could easily have chucked it away tonight and walked home. Infuriating.

So forks are likely out of warranty so that screws me, rear end creak I will strip down and regrease everything

Hamster wheel squealing noise I have no idea, wheel bearings when spun by hand are noise free, new bb new Chainset so rules that out (noise was there before) .. Jockey Wheels smooth... What on earth else could that be that is a moving/rolling part!? Its when the wheels are moving more so at slow speed you can hear it squeaking and squealing away

Break the problem down mate. Just tackle one noise/issue at a time.👍

Sometimes you can isolate where a noise is coming from by spraying area with water with a little washing up liquid in, not much though! Or just use plain water first. This will "lube" the area making the noise for a few minutes allowing you to see where the problem is.

Worst case, send forks away or service yourself and bearings needing change on frame or whatever.

Might be a lot less than that though.

A full susser I take it?

I suspect something is oscillating a little too wildly.

Haha very clever reeksy 😀

Poopscoop cheers yes sounds like a plan to go through everything, I have recently had forks serviced and no noise when they came back at all, well just the usual new squishy oil noise, I will try and spray areas with oil etc see if I can combat it piece by piece... And yep full suss, bearings are relatively new tho, but I do have a spare upper and lower link I could try to see if it cures the rear end creak

Forks my mate can reglue by taking them all apart but more expense I could do without now as just had them serviced and my rear shock is desperate too for a service

Parksie shimano 12 speed jockeys and had them out by hand and no noise at all

Regrease your headset before you spend a load on your forks. That’s more likely to be the cause of your creaking IME.

Does your hamster still scream when you’re freewheeling? If so it’s your brakes or possibly a wheel bearing.

cheezpleez - done headset, was first though, but I only regreased everything 2 weeks ago, but instantly thought of that, recleaned, and regreased and torqued everything up, creak still there

hamster wheel noise - hard to tell when freewheeling due to the freehub, but when back home I got my mother to turn cranks and stuck my head as close as humanly possible to the wheel to see if I could hear right until it stopped spinning and it was silent....brakes maybe a slight rub I guess, but good pad clearance and it runs free, but initial thoughts are still wheel bearing, either front or rear somehow, I cant see what else it could really be

Creak could be coming from the stem/handlebar/steerer - clean interfaces and grease/tighten bolts

Hamster wheel noise could be dry pedal bearings / bushings.

stuf - cleaned and regreased last night after ride, still the same, all bolts torqued and greased

stevet1 - yes was one of my first thoughts, but they are time atac new pedals only 3 months old, and the bearings are bombproof and amazingly sealed, but was my first thought, I have however spun them independently fast and slow and they are silent

im still thinking wheel bearings all though I have no proof in actual action!

crimsondynamo - does it out of the saddle too

Pedal threads, 9/10 creaks on my bikes come back to dry or gritty pedal threads after swapping them.
