Hello,
So I am thinking of doing some guiding qualifications to do some weekend work and maybe look at going abroad as a career break or setting something up my self (instruction or a chalet guide) in the future. As you can tell it's all pretty vague at the mo in as much as where I want to take it.
I know there are two obvious decent qualification available (feel free to correct me) the CTC technical leader and the SMBLA mountain bike leader.
Has anyone done these? Any thoughts? Which is the more useful in the real world/workplace? Are either (or another) well thought of internationally?
Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT - and how worth while for mtb is the general ML course?
There has been a thread about this already today.
any links?
am looking at doing something similar, so will be keeping my eyes on this....
slw - > got a link? being lazy here... 😛
guys... a bit more effort needed, you'll need some initiative to work as a guide! 😉

Hey SLW!
Hi! I got sick of fighting with airline websites! Alzy can do the outward leg mwahahaha.
guys I have this group on Sat, if you plan the route, load the van, dish out the emergency food, and then take all the flak when I cancel the ride due to weather. I will take the money!
Ha ha! You forgot the most important bit, "carry all the gear".
cheers guys!!!!!
