Mrs HTO and I have a long weekend away soon, staying in Alnmouth.
Suggestions please for a couple of short-ish (40-70km) easy-ish gravel rides please. Ideally from Alnmouth, or if we need to drive, just a half hour or so.

Some lovely gravel in rothbury. Can ride over through simonside along the sandstone way into harwood.
This might help you plot - look at the key. It highlights bike paths and so on.
The other option is Strava heat map.
I'd suggest looking at coastal rides - use some of the national cycle network stuff and back roads. Or get on a train and ride back?
Rothbury is a good shout as well.

Heading to Bamburgh soon and wondering if I should take a bike.... Would be my HT but couldn't really see much that would be interesting on a MTB of any kind. Will check out the above posts however.
Its not rideable from Bamburgh but Rothbury would have some good stuff on a hardtail. There's some more interesting bits in there where a mtb would be fun.

Large parts of the coastal path sustrans route from Warkworth to Berwick would pass for a gravel route, even when you are on the B and C roads. If you climb out of Alnmouth via Foxton you will find plenty signs.
If you like cake you should plan a route around a running fox cafe. They take bookings and can get busy. Was rammed with afternoon tea families so we had to eat out cake on the bench outside on Monday.
If you like fish then book the jolly fisherman in craster. They do a great platter for lunch.
And slightly further inland from Rothbury is Alwinton and up to Wooler
