I've just decked the space outside my shed with composite decking. It was originally a shelters grassy area great for irresponsible spilling of brake fluid, fork oil etc, but apparently I've got to be clean and tidy on the new deck.
Cinaidering fiddly dropped part loss prevention and spill protection, recommend me a decent "workshop" type floor mat that I can roll up and put away and bring out when I'm wrenching.

Workshop rubber mats are a bit heavy and go stiff over time, yoga mats are ok but a bit narrow so you can drop something where the mat isn't, I use some big interlocking foam mats from B&M with a wood effort print on one side, there's also a grass print version, I store them up against the sheds walls so they don't take up much room, rubber car boot liners are also decent for oil spillage and pretty cheap.
I've got an IKEA rug. It's rubber backed and was pretty cheap.

The answer is an MX/motorcycle pit mat.
They are relatively cheap, soak up oil/liquid spills, nice size, feel sturdy and roll away nicely.
I have about 3 of them. I built my workshop assembly bench the size of one so I could put it down to protect furniture from what was usually a track saw cutting bench.
I got mine from 24MX or XLMOTO, but many motorcycle places sell them.
My garage is completely floored in black rubber gym matting (stable matting) so I always put down an old white bedsheet due to the fact that otherwise I’d never find any of the small bike parts I regularly drop (and doing a burpee on an invisible nut, bolt or screw bloody hurts). Also makes cleaning up spills easier.

Huh, speaking as the owner of a load of unlaid black shed floor tiles, I wish I considered this when choosing the colour.
Op, we put stuff like this plastic sheeting over scaffolding decks at work when not using something more rigid.
I like that motorbike mat though.
Google " Plant nappy" or "plant nappy liner" a variety of choices for roll up mats in a variety of sizes. I have one and it survives being stored outside crammed into a narrow gap until i need it.
They are used on construction sites to catch spills from genny's etc.
