I'm looking at possible routes for my June trip and given getting home from Nice is a massive ballache I've been considering a loop from Geneva. There's a road in Italy that goes over from Ceresole Rivale to Aosta but with (I think) 5km of path between it. If it's dirt I reckon it'll be okay as it's above the treeline but I'm concerned about how rocky it is as I'll be on (at best) a road bike with fat tyres. Anyone ridden or walked it?
