Just saw this and thought some of you may be interested in the latest updates to the Satmap and the results of using the downloaded updates.

that review is spot on, ive got a satmap with bike mount, its great, the recent update and li-pol battery pack mean great usage. i used it in lakes last week for 7 hours, 5 hours 2 days after and 3 hours today, and its just run out, this was with the screen on all the time.
its expensive to begin with and the dampness getting behind the screen is a pain, but otherwise its excellent
Had a minor problem with mine taking too long to get a lock recently and sent it back to Satmap. Fantastic customer service - returned within 4 days working brilliantly and they had replaced the sacrificial screen with a new one as well. No charges and they gave me a freepost address to use to send it to them.
Had the Li-Pol battery from the start and great life. Tested leaving the screen on permanently and got over 6 hours in sub zero temperatures. I gather that the available mapping is likely to be extended to other parts of Europe later this year as well.
...and they're working on a Mac version! Whoopee. I'm starting saving now.
