Just taken a space for a trip to Afan this coming Saturday. Sounds good. Apart from I haven't been on a bike for 6 months due fairweatherness, holiday, laziness and injury. Is there anything I can do to make it easier on myself apart from calling in sick?
Good nights kip, no beer and lots of pasta the night before.
Hearty breakfast and take plenty food/drink with you.
Insist on stopping often for photographs.
100 squats, today, your legs should have recovered by Saturday
Take it steady with loads of food and you should be fine. Tired by the end, but you'll survive.
Just take it easy on the climbs, especially that first one out the centre when you won't be properly warmed up. No booze is a good tip though not always achievable!

Did a 70km charity XC ride on Sunday, have hardly ridden this year. Maybe been on the bike for a grand total of 4 hours max since early Jan. I was worried about it but was absolutely fine.
Drink loads of fluids the day before, big dinner and regular food stops / eating a little every hour will see you right.
