Also, is it breathable enough to use in the summer?

I ride mostly in the dark peak and it likes to rain .. All year.

Ta

Best bikey waterproof I've ever owned. GoreTex Active Shell is very breathable - but can still be swamped by perspiration I'm afraid.

The windstopper one is first class. Pockets in all the right places...
Sleeves zip off so it becomes a gilet. 🙂

I have a paclite which is very very waterproof. It does get very sweaty inside though.
Its the first expensive Goretex type jacket I've owned (got it 1/2 price!), so cant compare.

Hmm I'm thinking of the full waterproof one really. Do they stay waterproof ?

Do they new reproofing or can they be rejuvenated when a wash and tumble dry?

+1. Best warmest and most waterproof jacket I've ever owned. Used it all year round in -6 temps'. Light enough to roll up and stuff in the back pack too and use it as a summer rain jacket. Down side is that if you fall off it can tear but there are good Goretex repairers out there. I wouldn't pay the full price, I think I got mine from Wiggle with about £100 notes off !

Am I being dim? Is there any difference between the 2012 and 2013 model apart from the colours available?

I've seen the 2012 for £160 which is an £60 saving ..

I wore my new Gore Bike Wear Alp-X 2.0 Gore-Tex Active Shell jacket for the first time this morning in a very wet hour commute, amazing jacket, the water just wipes off, very light and very breathable, my base layer certainly wasn't as damp as usual, I might have to invest in some shorts now, they were soaked.
