I run Shimano LX discs on my Evil, with 203/180 rotors. I like to run my brakes really sharp, and won't run anything other than Shimano (I believe they're simply the best) and like the sound of sharpening these up with a set of Goodridge hoses.

How much difference do they make? £32 on CRC doesn't seem too unreasonable but I see there's also a Fibrax set that's a tenner cheaper- is it as good?

Cheers.

Shimano aren't necessarily the best mind, but they are good.

Upgrading to braided hoses does help yes. I've done this and it made the brakes a lot sharper. One brand over another probably doens't make a difference tho.
