Avid don't recommend it as the modulation of the brake relies on a bit of expansion in the hose (that's what I've been lead to believe). I have a goodridge hose on my rear elixir 5 brake as I needed a longer hose than my secondhand brakeset had. I couldn't get hold of an Avid at the time. I would say it's a bit grabbier than the standard hose on the front.

I've no doubt that Goodridge hoses are good, but in my opinion aren't 'worth' the extra money compared to standard hose.

Avid don't recommend it as the modulation of the brake relies on a bit of expansion in the hose (that's what I've been lead to believe).

?

I've always been led to believe that hose expansion = bad

Sounds a bit strange if Avid really do claim this - surely the rear brake would exhibit completely different modulation than the front due to having double the hose length?

Wouldn't believe their 'claim' myself ๐Ÿ™„

Six of one.... half a dozen of the other. Some will argue they make a difference, others the opposite.

Above all else, their main selling point is they don't rip/tear/crimp when you crash, compared to normal hoses.

I got mine for free, but I would certainly NOT pay full price for them.
