just been on a shopping trip in town to try and purchase a new waterproof for cycling.

my Columbiaย  outdry has finally given up the ghost.

went to decathlon, and a couple of the quechua ones are possibly ok.

but something more cycling specific would be better, longer back, packable, no hood.

looking for something with a 55'' chest and 40'' waist.

without buying from Fatlad at the back, is there anything else ?

Paramo might work - I'm a 52inch chest and have room for a thick fleece under mine. Keela also worth a look - their 3xl is too big on me.

If you want to spend big money then these guys are the business: http://www.cioch-direct.co.uk/perfect_fit/perfect_fit.html

Steve, i had a Keela saxon. bit too tight on back/shoulders.

and i have a winter weight Cioch jacket that i got made when i was a few stone heavier.

i want a lighter packable thing.ย  the keela saxon would be ideal if they made a 4xl.

I am not quite as big in the chest, Ton, but I find my 2XL showers pass Ecolyte to be excellent. Sleeves and back nice and long, roomy shoulders and chest. Pretty sure you can remove the hood (but I really like hoods, if the weather is bad enough I'm wearing the jacket I love a hood over my helmet).

If that is too neat, the showers pass Transit jacket I also used for many years is absolutely massive in 2XL. I had to size down on that one to XL and it is still V roomy. https://showerspass.co.uk/products/mens-transit-jacket-cc?variant=29368156717126

I never size down, ever!

Hope helpful? Also interested in other responses ๐Ÿ™‚

Here's the Ecolyte in action at the weekend in Torridon, and a normal sized person included in the shot for scale 🙈

Cheers Kev

I forgot about showers pass stuff.

About 10 or so years ago I owned one of their century jackets. It was quite good iirc.

Sold it to someone on here.

Try the Keela hillwalking waterproof jackets.

Designed to be used with layers so roomier than the Saxon. I have the ProSport as I couldn't justify the MRT-issue jacket for dog walking.

Showers Pass may have more "American" views on sizing than the skinny Italians, and I think there's an STW discount?
