I need to get a bottle cage for using on the cyclo x bike.

What would you recommend that is cheap, but holds the bottle well?

Ta

I've used these for years, never lost a bottle from one even on bumpy descents and I don't think you can get cheaper. Look a bit crap though, I guess. You can bend them a bit to hold the bottle more tightly.

Elite, custom or cannibal, I find the latter a bit more secure but prefer the custom for ease of actually taking your bottle out.

Blackburn alloys about 3 quid at merlin etc. Kept both my bottles in place on Paris-Roubaix sportive and you can bend them to keep them snug.

Leyzne side pull. Have the added benefit of being able to use them with a frame bag.

The Bontrager Race Lite plastic cages work nicely. Holds the bottle securely, and available in lots of colours. I prefer plastic cages as they don't scratch the bottle as much.
Though from a quick search, it seems they now cost about £10, so maybe not as cheap as you would like.

Not cheap, but best bottle cages I've come across - never bounced a bottle out:

Go on sale off and on for half-price, so keep an eye out.

Bontrager alloy cages for me, in orange, though other colours are available 😉

Cannibals on the gnarmac bike, and just put a Spesh Zee on the gnarpoon for that oh so enduro look. 😀

Cannibals are ace, but IIRC, discontinued. The Rib Cage would be my other pick for that sort of thing. Also, you can bolt on the tidy little EMT tool if you want to.
