Got a hire of a shock wiz next week to sort out my suspension. I'm guessing I want to ride the same bit over and over again. Going to cwm carn, as that's relatively similar to the terrain I found in the alps that I want to set it up for.

I've ridden cwm carn quite a few times, but does anyone know of a good bit, that has a bit of rock etc in it, and crucially has a fireroad next to it to allow me to ride it 10 times (or whatever). I'm guessing I want 50m of drop, maybe 100m - so not the whole of the downhill track!

Cafall is closed at the moment so you are on twrch. Section that ends at the concrete ramp? You could go from the start of the airstream options, or a shorter section.

I think Cafall would have been better for rocks, twrch is more rooty.

Airstream is the most practical as it’s 2 short sections that are designed to be ridden more than once with a fire road to get back up, but they’re far from rocky.

The best section for decent rocks is the last but 1, but sadly it’s also probably the worse for access.

If you can drive a bit further to Afan the Omega section of The Wall has a decent bit of variety built into a short section that’s easy-ish to repeat.

Section that ends at the concrete ramp?

That's the bit I'd suggest. Not rocky but a couple of rooty drops then an easy climb back up the track. As mentioned the top bit is great to loop but its mostly smooth rollers. Probably worth having a play on as its fun. It'd be interesting to see if you get any useful data.

You can loop the final descent with a road climb but it would be a big loop.

Is the bottom of pedalhounds open?? If so, its easy to session and push back up the middle, as its always pretty quiet. And it has drops, roots, rocks, etc.

It really depends what sort of trails and riding you're looking to set up your bike for. There is no one setup for all types of riding.

If you ride mostly XC then setup your bike for rockey downhills, it'll be for too plush and active for XC.

Twrch is open, Cafal is closed. Pedal Hounds hasn't been uplifted for a few years, but it's also closed.
