I think I'm gonna have a bit of a cull, truth be told I've got too many bikes, frames and wheels.

Big eBay dump gonna happen then although common sense says wait till Feb?

Gonna sell:
Kinesis XC120 frame
Old Marin Shoreline frame
Dave Hinde road frame
Some Campag Shamal wheels
Some Richey 20mm maxle wheels
An old Ribble 653 road bike with 105 stuff
Loads of other odds & sods

That will leave me with: (still too many bikes)
Scandal 26er
Boardman Team FS
Old Trek 8500 (rigid ss pub bike)
Dolan carbon road bike
Kaffenback

I think maybe more culling is needed, quite fancy a 29er, So sell the Scaldal also and order a 29er Scandal but it's my most used bike? Maybe also get rid of the trek? Keffenback is a good hack / pub bike?

Hmmmm

All this is speculation in reality I haven't ridden properly for weeks now 🙁

if it were me id get rid of the scandal and the dolan aswell. maybe its becasue im a poor student, but i cant understand why people would want more than one type of bike, ie. two 'different' mountain bikes.

i suppose you could get rid of the planet x insted of the dolan

Personnally I'd stuggle with getting rid of the Scandal 26er until i knew that the 29er was for me, if it currently get used the most. Sell the 26er or 29er when you convinced which way is for you.
As for disposal of the rest, that seems a well thought out plan.
But then I'm at a total opposite to float, & have 5 mtb bikes and don't intend on getting rid of any. Kind of think I might like to try a 29er at some point, but no rush.

Dolan is my best road bike - keeping
Kaffenback is my all rounder winter commuter bike- keeping
Trek SS - Pub / shop / if it gets nicked not overly stressed bike - keeping
Gonna order a Scandal 29er in the new year and if I get on with it sell the 26 Scandal

So that leaves the Boardman team FS which I just hmmmmm about

Replaced my Ventana FS & 26" Inbred SS HT earlier this year. 29er Inbred covers all the bases now, & love it.

Do you use the boardman FS?

If a scandal 29er seems to do the job the boardman does for you well enough, then you could sell it on then?

"maybe its becasue im a poor student, but i cant understand why people would want more than one type of bike, ie. two 'different' mountain bikes"

Its becayse there is more than one type of mountain biking, hence more than one type of mountain bike
However, it reality (not in marketing jargon) there is probably more than one type of mountain bike and hence (in marketting jargon) there is more the one type of mountain biking?

Anyhoo, I have 4* mountain bikes. They all differ to one another and as such suit different types of terrain in different ways. Plus I have spares for when others break down
*None of which are enduro/freeride/downhill bikes. 'Need' to fill in those gaps ..
