Losing my company car and considering a 2013ish Golf Estate.

Anyone got experience of putting bikes in the back?

Will i get a 26" wheeled bike in there with one wheel off?

We've previously had a skoda octavia which I think is about the same size inside.

Standard golf

Road bike - in straight
FS MTB - front wheel off

Expect estate to be no worse

thanks, that's great to know. Sounds a very similar size to my current C-Class estate.

Do the back seats fold completely flat?

Same as above, 2013 5 door, can happily get my 140mm 29'er FS in there with the front wheel off

Almost, but not an estate version. Your voice may be even better. But I can get two bikes minus wheels in back of normal golf without problems

Had a 2014 estate. Could fit an xl Solaris in whole with the back seats down. Very decent amount of space inside for a relatively small car.

My 03 golf takes a 26 inch bike complete

Or two with front wheels off

Or loads if both wheels off and put upright across ways.

On the side yes with part of the rear seat down. Standing up no unless you have small bikes with short travel. You can however get at least one 650b wheel into the spare wheel bay under the floor.

Thanks folks, I have dispatched my secret weapon (dad) to have a look at one, if you hear swearing from a second hand car dealer in Redburn that'll be why.
