Anyone tried these... Sealkinz Handle Bar Mitts:

I get really cold hands on my winter road commute despite trying a range of gloves. I'm torn between trying these and Specialized Sub-Zero Gloves (both around £35-£40).

Anyone used them?

I find it's moisture that chills me more than anything else, so thin/breathable but warm/windproof seem to work better for me.

That and warm arms and head = warm fingers for some physiological reason that works, ditto legs/toes.

Highly recommended by my missus.

I've had Sealskinz gloves in the past and while they were very warm and dry, they fell to bits in just over a month. Returned them and got BBB Aquashields which were excellent all through last winter.

How the hell do you one finger brake with mittens on? 😕

I need them for commuting on my road bike where wind chill is a greater problem due to a much higher average speed.

Friend got the Sub Zero gloves, he liked them a lot, but said they weren't the best in really cold weather. My Sealskinz Winter gloves (3-4 years old now) only come out when the temperature goes below 0, as they're so damned hot.

I'd say go for the mitten or their std winter glove or their "extra cold cycling gloves", either way you should be warm.

I have sealskinz gloves not sure which ones, possibly not bike specific, really good. When it gets colder I wear a liner underneath.

But I picked up a pair of sub zeros last winter at a bargain price, and whilst bulky they're fantastic. I even took them skiing last time round as a reserve pair in case I lost my others.

Hammerite

Which would you take if it were really cold... the Sealskinz or the Sub-Zero gloves?
