gonna enter the gravity enduro series when it opens.
only got my ventana now, so i am saving up to buy a new 26'' wheeled bike.
dont know wether to buy a full sus or a burly hardtail bike.
needs to be tough as old boots and strong obviously.
needs 150mm forkability.
needs to be a bigish frame.
had a heckler...did not like it..too low at the front
had a stiffee...too harsh at the back
any ideas greatly appreciated.
and before the tags start to appear...........yes i am a attention whore.. 🙄

456 summer season?
liked mine. (but bought a patriot which kind of undermined it)
Cotic BFe?
Chromag?
I quite fancy a new Rocky Mountain Element - could you get one of those so that I can buy it cheap just after Xmas when you sell it? 😉
Dialled Alpine?
cotic and dialled are a bit too small.
never thought of the chromag bikes.
might be worth a look.
Transition Trans AM?
Evil Soverign?

Alpine 160
Orange 5 tony - you could join the meltham golcar club !
Merry xmas and hope your health is improving.

What about a Yeti 7?
Trek remedy
Nicolai Helius AM
i thought you'd had every bike in existence so far 😯 ...judging by you numerous and frequent clearouts 🙂
another vote for the orange alpine 160
had every bike in existence?........no way, loads left to try.
thought about a trek remedy to be honest, and they do a 21.5 version which would be ideal.
Heckler too low? Is that the case with the newer 2009> ? You can run up to 160mm forks which brings it right up? I had the older version (2006) and I would agree, but the newer one (which I now have) feels much higher/stable than the old one....
Get another blue pig!
Orange 5, see what si has from chumba, Chris at RHUK has a Knolly endorphin in large for £1100 (2010 shock). I'm tempted to say a nomad or tracer but I think they may be better off with 160mm forks. on balance, I'd say a 5 or the endo as both should be man enough for your stature.
150mm for trail centres? I'd be looking for something long and low, 120-140mm travel, big brakes and tyres.
I think he's already got some forks, tom and 150 is fine for trail centres etc.
The Evil Sovereign now comes in vertically overcompensating sizes, and is the new bike of choice for meltham/golcar radness.
XL is suitable for people around 6'3" give or take some inches.
Bear in mind that it is the best bike in the whole world. Ever. Much better than anything suggested above or after. I'll be doing some of the gravity enduros on mine.
Your old Stiffee? 😉
The new Ventana El Ciclon or the El Chucho 69er.
1 of main things to get right is weight, you want it to come in as close to 30lb's if not lighter, the other is a gravity seatpost 🙂
Ton, I'd sell you back your Summer Season but I sold it. 😀
Orange 5 AM
I'm saving for a Liteville 301
snaps your bike is minging
Just my two cents worth and a bit of a long shot.
I think 26" wheels are a great starting point.
2x 26" wheels are amazthong, both with tyred, red tyres with inner TUBES 😯 .
Then some gears, 18 or 27 or if you really want to be [s]an asshat[/s] cool 30+ at least.
Then lycra handle bars, with a gstring to fasten to your helmet and keep it covered up! BBBBRRRRRRRR!!!!! it's c h illi out!
I would also go for an alumeniom fram, with a stickers on TIT!!!!!!!
Hop u getz ya ridg sortad, 😀
I love my Fuek EX in 21.5 virtual (its actually a bit smaller than that but with a lovely long top tube)). Its the best fitting bike I've owned. So if it was me I'd be thinking Remedey
Ton, how about something with an 18" frame so that me or Martin can have it when you are finished 😉
All the best for Xmas sir from the other side of LS26.
merry xmas conrad mate.............. 😀
Foes xct, they are nice n strong bike that handles well.
Mojo HD?
Snaps my eyes have just been sick 😉
