Was gutted recently when I tore a gaping hole out of the back of my favourite Aussie Grit gilet.
It was a good stretchy material that stayed virtually flap free and didn't rustle.
Compare to a Rapha Core gilet I got a good deal on which is lighter and more packable but less stretchy (and thus randomly flappy around my mis-shapen shoulders) but also a bit restrictive.
There's tonnes of gilets on the market but it's hard to distinguish the stretchy ones from the rustley un-stretchy ones.

I have an Altura Icon Rocket Gilet which is stretchy and non flappy/rustly, fleecy lined front but still packs pretty small. Happy so far.

Also, if you love it, why not fix it? At £50+ for a fancy gilet, there will be someone who can do a neat job professionally if you don't want to sew it yourself.
Several of my favourite bits of kit are mostly mad of my untidy sewing. My favourite gloves have all been sewed up at least once. My favourite riding trousers have a massive pair of patches round the leg where they have ripped
If you are a large I have 3 Aussie Grit gilets that I dont wear. One thermal (black) and two in the thinner stretchy fabric, one black/ grey the other royal blue.
Thanks folks, apologies had forgotten I'd posted this!

I did! 😎 Actually I've confused my reason for posting, I just want another black gilet for when the blue doesn't go with the rest of my outfit 😂
