After 8 months of absolute battering my Giant Trance's own brand shock just can hold pressure!!! 🙁
Went for a nice and light XC ride today and twice i had to pump the shock up to my relatively low 135psi pressure and the first time dropped to 50psi and the second time 90psi. Have the seals gone???
I love the shock it is equally as good as my dads rp23 so i am not keen on upgrading so I was hoping to rebuild and replace the seals as it is the only real reason i can think of the dramatic pressure loss.
Any help or your experiences would be great plus an links for rebuilding it I believe its a NRS shock.
Cheers
A chip out of the main body shaft will also cause it. But id say seals would be a good place to start
daft question but have you checked the schraeder valve?
The valve on my not-very-old rp3 started unscrewing itself from the outer ring, presumably each time i removed the shock pump. Tiny dribble of oil and a core remover tool later and my shock stays inflated.
Cheers julianwilson i have taken the valve out and lightly lubed so we will see if that has eliminated a valve problem, cheers mate 🙂
I've ran a Giant own make shock for two years now, simply can't fault it! Along with the frame, its the only original part left on my bike, everything else has been replaced. I can fully understand why you want to keep it.
