Got a 2016 model (frame hasn't changed at all since). It goes as fast as my legs push it, just gets on with the job. Only slight negative is that the headset bearings didn't last very well, but they're hardly a hassle to replace. That's all I can think of really

Thanks

I’ve got one on order. Chose it as I love climbing. Just wondering about the comfort aspect? I rarely ride more than 50km

FWIW, I have a 2016 TCR Advanced 1, so presumably a lesser grade of carbon than a Pro frame.  Had no issues on longer rides and know of plenty people who ride TCR's over greater distances, when on paper, you may think the Defy would be more comfortable.

So you have made a great choice.

No issues here, its a race bike so never going to be as relaxed as a Defy, itll depend on what you're used to. 100 miles on it is fine, as are short blasts

I have 2015 tcr advanced 1 , its ace. I've done many sportives on it and find it very comfy. Advanced and advanced pro use same carbon frame but fork is all carbon on pro with ally steer tube on advanced. If i was looking to get another TCR i would buy the pro version, its a bit lighter and carbon rims.

I had 2015 one for a 2 years.  It was a very good bike, did 100+ mile all day rides and raced it with some success to come through cat 4 to 3.  The only negative I can think of was a slightly creaky press fit bottom bracket.  It was just a really good handling fairly lightweight race bike.  I changed the saddle and bar tape, and eventually upgraded the wheels.

There is very little in it other than a half degree head angle and a slightly longer head tube (fewer spacers and a 5 mm longer stem). I ride two Propels and a Defy SL, and they are all comfortable over 100+ miles. The Propel has the same geometry as the TCR. One of my Propel's has the same Advanced carbon, the other has the SL carbon. There is absolutely no difference between the two.

The TCR Advanced has an alloy steerer, the Advanced Pro has full carbon. The difference is half a bottle of water. Just price gauging by Giant. Buy any TCR with confidence, they are great bikes.

It was Bikeradar and Cycling Plus' bike of the year - some good insight here:
