Wonder what this will do to the general reputation of 29er's?

ow that could be painful 😯
It doesn't just happen to 29'ers, so not a lot i'd guess.
p.s. I still want one.
Why should it make a difference; couldn't a crack appear in a 26" frame as well!?
That's fairly old news; been on mtbr for couple of months.
Ah I get it now, the 1,2,3 are normal 26ers ... DOH!
Must have been the way bloody Bike Radar reported it.

Typical 29er bashing by the media 🙂
p.s. I got a tallboy so a little part of me is glad there won't be so many of these around for a while yet! No point cheating if everyone else does too 😉
Clink I did search the forum first. Didn't see any other posts.
And I blame BikeRadar for my lazy reporting!
... enhance it? see a problem and fix it, fine with me.
Perhaps they could be re-released at a more realistic price. 😉
i think the ride of it over a lot of other bikes will make it worth the money ;O)
I havent seen the thread on mtbr or bikeradar, but seen as the AnthemX 29er is sold at 3 spec levels in the US, I'm guessing its the 29er only in this recall.

No recall in the UK annouced yet though?
crack with the junction of seat tube & top tube? Sounds like seatpost run too high to me!
Are these actually available in the UK yet? I mean, to ride off on rather than pre-order?
I noticed a sticker on the top tube of my new Giant Anthem X1 (26' wheels, not a 29er)last night which I peeled off. Warned against nulling the warrenty if too little seat post was inserted in the frame. Do Giant usually put these on or are they worried about this frame in particular?
Been fine so far BTW and a very impressive ride.
Yes, Giant have fitted a minimum insert sticker for some years now, I remember seeing it on the NRS's around 03?
I've got one on my Giant Bowery so I guess it is an across the range policy, probably inspired by lawyers to protect them from other lawyers.
Well, last year Specialized recalled the 26er epic over the rear swingarm possibly cracking, but they didn't recall the 29er version.
So does that spell the end of 26ers????
Is this the end of biking as we know it?
Is this the end of biking as we know it?
I would have thought they'll be a global ban on cycling as a sport due to the potential dangers.
annoyingly in the UK we just get one Anthem x 29er at £3k and not even in XL size..
in the US/Canada they get anthem 29er and different price points and in big sizes
like this nice Anthem 29er 3
