Giant Crosscut Tyres

My better half has just ordered a Liv Devote gravel bike. It comes with 38mm Giant Crosscut AT tyres. As she's got a second wheelset with some 32mm slicks on, I think she'd be better served with a wider gravel tyre for the other wheels. And the snob in me thinks the own brand tyres might not be that great anyway. Before I jump in and suggest spending another £80+ on tyres, has anyone used the Crosscut? Are they decent? Worth trying before replacing? Riding in the Borders so the gravel can be anything from nice to, well, chunky!
