I'm wanting to make something to attach a bike with qr fork to the wall (without front wheel). I have a wooden rail which I can cut down to length, drill through the middle to put a skewer through but can't think how to attach that bit to the wall, without a screw right through the middle. Has anyone fashioned something similar?
I could just buy this, but y'know.

Two cheap hooks screwed into the wall 95mm apart.
Remove wheel.
Replace QR
Hook QR over hooks.
