Arrrrrghh. I'm trying to get the plastic endcaps off my eggbeater 2s to service them, and am just damaging the plastic. My 8mm screwdriver isn't wide enough to get it turning without cutting into the plastic, and my 12mm is too thick to fit in the slot.
Has anyone ever actually achieved this feat?!
Just cut into the plastic, the service kit includes metal ones. The plastic ones are total shit.

1 - Remove pedals from bike.
2 - Locate bin.
3 - Place pedals in bin.
4 - Buy Time or Shimano pedals instead.
5 - Fit aforementioned Time or Shimano pedals to bike.
6 - Forget about servicing pedals.
7 - Ride more.

It was a Ward Industries after market one too. So I can't wholly blame CB ๐ณ

Yep, to be fair. Still flies in the face of the "Shimano are utterly indestructible" thing. Which is a shame, because SPDs are fantastic, principally because they're so utterly reliable!
