[Closed] getting back into (retroish) MTB/Tyre-width question

it's been a tiresome 18 months of zero MTBing owing to stubborn injury - however I am finally, happily, now making some real progress.

Of course the first thing I did was purchase an older/used triple MTB to ease back into it slowly without incurring too much risk of expensive disappointments.

I read that a 2007 XTC 2.5 is quite a stiff and harsh hardtail with narrowish (stock) tyres? Does anyone know if it will take 2.4s? Rebas on the front shouldn't be a problem for clearance but the rear wishbone stays could be. I've yet to collect the bike so digging for knowledge beforehand, thanks! haven't owned a Giant since 2K (XTC Team - NRS) and memories of that are good. Never ridden an XTC hardtail tho.
