How easy is it to get guaranteed entry? Is it a lottery like Fred Whitton or do you just need to be there with a credit card as soon as registration opens?

Can't use one of the tour organisers as hoping to work it in to a longer family holiday.

It was easy to get in last year. It’s first come first served on the website. Entries usually open late October.

Just a thought you can do the route anytime. So if your family holiday does not tie in with the event just go and ride it when your out there.

I’m heading out early June with some cycling buddies and plan to do the majority of the route. Not sure if I’d bother with the stinker of a climb at the end though that was just a bit too masochist for me after a century.

Thanks guys.

Aberdeenlune, the 'event' would be part of the attraction, 7500 other European riders on the road sounds pretty immense, plus will give me the motivation I'll likely need to finish the course!

Doing the Marmotte with out the event is far too easy too not bother with ADH at end, unless you're staying at the top of course!
