What Geotextile for my land drains? Dupont Typar SF33 or Groundtex? Clay soil/subsoil. Will probably be using a couple of inches of sand as a primary filter before the textile.
Got to be someone on STW who knows their geotextile onions!?
I would have thought something like a Terram 700 would be cheaper and more easily available.
Cheers numbnut. Seems not, though! Can only find the 1000 for sale and that's more expensive the SF33.
Would it do the job better? I'm redoing some old land drainage that stopped working years ago. Anything that might add years to how long mine lasts will be well worth paying a little extra for. Any reason why you mentioned it other than price of availability? Just what you've used before?
We generally see terram 1000 specified on our projects but I think that's more down to lazy Consulting Engineers!
The Typar product looks more than suitable.

Cheers numbnut, just been reading that. All sounds good, doesn't it? Next question: 33 or 24? Pfff...
