29er hardtail with 68deg head angle - trying to decide on a fork
Do I get a 140mm Yari RC (51mm offset) or a 140mm XFusion McQueen Roughcut HLR with 46mm offset but run it with a -2deg angleset
And if I go Yari, do I put the angleset in anyway...will it make any difference (other than the fact that I've now bought it and a new headset will cost me more)
or do I just dig out some kittens...?

When I went to 51mm offset from 46mm I did notice a difference. Not necessarily better or worse, just different. It's only an effect I think you'd notice if you did a back to back. I'd go for whichever is the best fork (or you determine to be the best fork).
Surely if you're going to use the -2 degree headset it makes most sense to use the fork with more offset, as slackening the head angle will increase effective trail.
