Pretty much every time I connect using Garmin Express, there's a mapping update available - I guess that's the case with open source maps.
The updates are usually around 2Gb for the Europe map, so takes a while.
How often do folk update, and do you notice many differences?
The latest is 7Gb!
If you are adding or fixing stuff on OpenStreetMap, its great to get a new map to see your changes.
I use the Garmin maps from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
You can just download maps for the UK, so its only about 600MB. I usually get an updated version every month or so.
As above. The Garmin map is for all of Europe so don't use so often as it is huge. The openvtt maps or the ones above are region specific so you can update the source and gets the results next week or so
Unless you compile your own maps of course ๐
Bookmarked
I can't remember the last time I did. I suspect the device will die before I can be arsed to update them, don't really see any need. I am still using a car satnav with 14 year old maps on it though ๐
Ha ha! Me too.
