I upgraded my old black & white E.trex Legend to a new E.trex 30 at the end of last year. It was bundled with a 600sq O.S. km mapping card which enables you to download small areas of maps when needed rather than buy the whole mapset or regions. A great idea but it all seems so long winded & clunky to download maps & produce tracks. The display on the Etrex & PC leaves a lot to be desired too as it seems you have to zoom in to a certain degree before the OS scale is activated. By the way, the map credits have an expiry time so you have to use them or lose them which seems to me a bit against the priciple of credits as I would like to use them when I want to rather than when I'm told to! Anyone else use Birdseye/Basecamp?
