Right people , wondering if there is a lead that connects the Garmin 800 to an iPhone in order to upload rides without using a laptop ? Any advise would be great ๐
Nope. An 810 can do it wirelessly though.
If it mounts as a drive, you could do it wirelessly with a Kingston Mobile lite g2/G3.
They let you copy stuff on and off usb drives etc using anything that can mount a samba share, like goodreader.
You are trying to get the file off the internet using the phone then send it to the Garmin ? I think the iPhone file system is deliberately pretty closed so retrieving and sending files would need a custom app I think ?
As I said, download a gpx however (lots of ways) and open in goodreader, then mount the device on the mobilelite and copy it across.
I've downloaded, unzipped and installed an OS image to an SD card to boot a raspberry pi like that, gpx be easy.
I use "ST uploader for garmin" app on my android phone to do just that.
I have an OTG cable plugged into micro usb slot in bottom with the ant+ dongle plugged into that.
With this I upload my garmin swim & 310xt sessions via the phone.
There may be a apple version of the app
The only reason for wanting to do this is to upload rides to garmin connect and strava
