Evening all,
Didn't really know if this should go in Off Topic or here, so apologies if it's in the wrong place. Just got back to Keighley from Devon to find my garage door in bits and some bikes missing. Please, if anyone sees them anywhere at all, contact me on d dot g dot robinson at hotmail dot co dot uk.

Details:
2007 Santa Cruz Chameleon, large, black - last of the horizontal dropout models.
Rock Shox Pike 454 coil forks, black.
Halo Freedom Disc wheels, white, with white Spin Doctor hubs.
Full M750 XT groupset - double and Shimano M800 bash, short cage rear mech, 9 speed.
Titec saddle, riser bars, seatpost, 60mm stem, all in black.
FSA Pig DH Pro headset, black.
DMR V12 pedals, black.
There's a little red star at the top of the seat tube on the frame on the driveside.

2008 Orange P7, 17 inch, black, with white decals.
Orange F8 rigid fork, black.
Halo Freedom Disc wheels, white, with white Spin Doctor hubs.
M750 XT groupset - 1 x 9 set up, long cage rear mech, Blackspire front ring, no bash or chain guide.
M765 XT brakes (I'd borrowed these brakes from the Chameleon above).
Titec saddle, Flat Tracker bars, seatpost, 90mm stem, all in black.
FSA Pig DH Pro headset, black.
DMR V8 pedal, black, on the non-driveside - they've left the other pedal on the floor where it was for storage reasons!

Would especially like any news of my Chameleon, but I was in the process of finishing off the P7 and had only ridden it once! The forks on it were brand new only a couple of weeks ago. Any info at all, please do get in touch, and if you're in the Keighley area - keep that garage under close scrutiny!
Humpy.

Sorry to hear that. Have friends in Steeton. Set up some ebay searches and let the police and local bike shops know.

another set of eyes here in Riddlesden.

Forgive if you don't want to give out details, but whereabouts are you? Is your garage overlooked? Did you have meaty locks?

C'est la vie I suppose, but not the best way to polish off an 8 hr drive. Yeah, they were all locked up mighty fine, but they've cut right through. I'll nip into the local shops tomorrow if I can.
Thanks all,
Humpy.

Hi mate sorry to hear about this.

I'm in Oakworth do will keep my eyes open.

I also had two bikes stolen from Oakworth in February, which were recovered, and same two again last weekend over Easter. Seems like its happening a fair bit..

I did get a lead from the second hand shop opposite the star pub- he rang me after seeing my flyer and said he had heard one of my bikes was for sale in Stockbridge... True or not? Dunno, but I went for a cruise there anyway to have a look..

This appeared for sale yesterday, not a million miles away from keighley and the spelling is bad enough!

Chase up that gumtree add..

1.Ask to meet seller / view bike with the intention of buying, ideally at sellers address
2.Visually confirm bike is yours. at sellers address / meeting place
bring with you all paper work / photos / frame numbers / crime ref ect
3.Dial 999 there and then, ask for police assitance in retrieving stolen property, and you have sight of the item.

police won't do detective work for you. they dont have time.
they will however come round in a jiffy if you hand them a conviction on a plate.

A friend of mine had his shed broken into recently - Saltaire, just down the road from Keighley.

Luckily the bikes were secured to concrete fastenings which effectively deterred them removing the bikes from the property.

These thieves sound very organised.

Shame the police are so unsuccessful when it comes to this sort of crime.

A work colleague's husband had his bike stolen from a their garage in Keighley last Sunday. The thieves took part of the garage roof off to gain access.
Was reported to the police and bike was spotted being ridden somewhere in Keighley and it was recovered.

Bit of an update on this, I too had spotted the Gumtree ad. and forwarded it to the police. They handled it really well, rang up as an interested buyer, arranged a viewing and then raided him. My Chameleon was recovered along with some other stolen bikes - hopefully some from here.
Thanks for all your help and comments guys!
Humpy.
