Actually it's not that funny, but at the time it made me think of last week's 'I'm a hero cos I overtook a roadie' thread.
Time was a bit limited earlier so I went out for a spin on the road bike - first time since New years Day. I was most of the way around a local 20-odd mile loop when I out of the corner of my eye I caught a bloke just approaching the road from a park on an old MTB. No lid, flats and generally not wearing any 'biking' gear. Was going along at around 20mph - hardly super fast - for about 2.5 miles when I heard a cough and this bloke flies past me - surprising me a bit I must admit. I instantly thought 'sh*t I must be really unfit' (I am) and held his back wheel for a few hundred metres by which point I think he'd blown. I breezed past him and said I wasn't racing and that was that - never saw him again.
I wonder if he thought 'I'll catch that really slow roadie and show him' (I'm not a roadie) - a bit like that bloke on here last week. I bet that happens quite a lot. Quite interesting to see it from the crap roadie point of view though...
