Evening guys,

Looking at a 25lbs Scott Spark 120mm travel front and back, anything else comparable for this weight class?

Checked out YT Industries, Giant and Santa Cruz but all starting at 29lbs upwards.

Riding mainly XC in the peaks, and do a huge amount of climbing.

Cheers!

You can definitely get a blur below 25lbs off the shelf. Also a pivot Mach 429SL or Specialized epic

Ah, didn’t see 650b, I built my 5010 up to ~25lbs, though, not cheaply mind...

2nd vote for an Oiz. Any particular reason for 650b rather than 29er?

My Anthem 1 is 26 lbs, 120 front, 110 back, carbon rims, light and more than enough bike for me.

I have a large 650b spark SL.

Comes in just over 21lbs.

Forgot to say, no I don’t think anything is as good as the spark! 🙂

Current generation spark is much better than its predecessor. Also, it'll take 29ers too.

Where are you seeing this? I can only see the 100mm RC that goes under 26lbs (mentioned above and out of my budget)

If I go for a more xc focused less thuggy bike these look awesome for the (discounted) money. Also taken by the genius if I lean towards more travel. Wonder if the spark would handle my currently portly frame (84kg)

Mine is the 2015 spark 700sl.

21.2lbs.

This has the shock in the higher position.

I have a large Spark 720 from 2016. I changed the groupset to XT/XTR, the wheels to Hopes and put a dropper on. It's now at 23lbs and is awesome

Thanks guys, had a look at all the options and went with a Spark 700, 25lbs out the box, Fox Factory forks, with full XTR, with view to go for lighter wheels in future and get to around 23-24.

Tried some 29ers and found them a bit slow vs 650b + 26", hence the 650b decision.

Not my type of biking.

But check maybe also Canyon (Lux CF around 24 lbs?) or the web page from Radon bikes (Slide Carbon?) if you like.

A friend of mine bought recently a Canyon Neuron (around 28 lbs?). This is a climbing machine. In my opinion too focused on uphill performance. But maybe that's what you are looking for. (But think the Neuron is available only as 29er?)
