Let's see if the hive can succeed where my Google-Fu has failed.

Was at BPW over the weekend and spotted a very cool full-face helmet that could well make it onto my Christmas list if I can find out what it was.

Solid looking full-face with a pretty 'vertical', slabby rear profile but it was the colour scheme that made it distinctive - big patches of black/pink fade running across the helmet.

Couldn't see any obvious logos so might have been a custom paint job, and didn't see the rider again to ask.

Assuming it wasn't a custom, anyone got any ideas what it was?

Black and pink sounds like a Muc Off team rider. Slab back could be a 100% helmet.

Thanks, but none of those.

The spesh is quite cool though, might be an alternative option...

The Smith Wildchild colouring is too graphic - the one I saw was a gentle fade between black and pink.

Don't think it was a Muc-Off rider-  no branding on the helmet and not their shade of pink

Shape was quite like those 100% ones, but they don't have (m)any funky colourways.

Any other ideas?

My idea is to buy the best helmet based on price and what fits your head. Then choose your favourite colour.

Claude AI thinks it's this:

Coron Air MIPS MTB Helmet in Actinium Pink | POC (AU)

But i said that you said it looked like a 100% helmet and the fade was gentle...

"Based on your updated description of a gentle fade between black and pink with a look similar to a 100% helmet, this could be the 100% STATUS or AIRCRAFT helmet in a limited edition or regional colorway. The 100% helmets do have that vertical, slabby rear profile you're describing, and they've released various fade/gradient colorways over the years.

Unfortunately, I'm not finding a current black/pink fade colorway in my searches for 100%, Fox, or Bell helmets. This could be:

  1. A limited edition or regional release that's not widely available online
  2. A previous year's colorway that's been discontinued
  3. A custom painted helmet based on a 100% STATUS or AIRCRAFT model

The helmet shape you're describing (solid looking full-face with vertical/slabby rear) matches the 100% STATUS particularly well - it's their more affordable full-face with design cues from the AIRCRAFT.

Could you remember any other details like:

  • Where you saw it (in person, online, in a video)?
  • Approximately when?
  • Any logos or text visible on it?

This might help narrow down whether it's a special edition or perhaps from a different brand altogether."

None of those either. Thanks.

Thinking it must have been a custom job...

Closest to the colouring I've found is this one.

But it's obviously not a full face and the one I'm ineffectively lusting after then faded back to pink at the rear of the helmet.
