Looking to purchase a set of wheels for my Scott Spark in the near future. Are the Fulcrum 3's any good? They look the same price/same weight as Hope Hoops etc, so which would you go for?

Want something lightish, to be able to run tubeless, around £300.

Cheers!

I had a set, ran for a couple of years sporadically, never had a problem, good, tight and light wheels.

Seated a couple of different makes of tyres to them too (Shwalbe/Maxxis), without too much hassle.

I've got a set of Fulcrum road wheels which I really like, so wondered if the off road versions were as good!

I've got red metal 5s and I love them so far. Done a bit of everything and not been phased at all. Some Rocky downhill runs, generally trail use and all good. On a hard tail too.

Ok, sound good then.

Is there any advantage to building your own wheels nowadays?

Seems a waste of time for road, but wondered if it's still worth it for MTB?
