Hi All,
I'm going back to a rigid bike for the summer and I was wondering what is out there now that is like the old 2.4 (or was it 2.5) Racing Ralph? Something that's fast, big-ish and light. I think a 2.6 will be about my limit, so I can't use any of those new fangled plus tyres.

Got some Maxxis Ikons on my hardtail.

2.6 inch allegedly, with Maxxis's dodgy ruler. Probably equivilent to a Schwalbe 2.4 or 2.5

In winter, I'm running nobby nics 2.6 x 29er tyres front and back and highly rate them. Not too draggy for a big tyre but plenty of grip without being too heavy.

I'm currently running a maxis minion on the front and maxxis ss minion on the rear as I've just done King Alfred's way. Rolled well and no punctures!

The maxxis are quicker but the 2.6 are a far nicer ride.

Bontrager XR2 is a good option for something fast rolling.

2.6 Vittoria Mezcal is a great fast large volume tyre as long as it’s dry. It’s pretty sketchy in the wet. I want to try a Barzo but can’t find any stock in 2.6

I use Ikons on the rigid. 2.35 rear / 2.6 front. Both on 29mm rims.

Got the rekon race 2.4 on my rigid.

Vittoria Barzo 2.6  would be my go to, if you can find one....
