Having tried both in recent biblical rain, floods and mud, I can say that both setups are great, but the combined bender fender and downtube gut fender definitely keep more muck off my face and specs.

IMO only of course ๐Ÿ˜€

Not just me then ! The MuckyNutz setup also handy in that on dryer days it's a 20 second job to remove the gut fender. I leave the fork bender fender on all the time and its pretty unobtrusive and protects the stanchions.

It's all about the bike and where your face is relative to the wheels when you are riding it. That's why some people swear by setups that other people hate, and there's no point asking on here, you'll get an argument.

I can't use those little fork crown jobs on their own, but others seem happy to.

Bender Fender / Gut Fender combo great at keeping my face and forks out of the mud.

Must say the rear mud hugger is my favourite ever bike-related purchase. It's incredibly effective.
