Looking to replace my front mech
Had a wee look on CRC, Wiggle, Merlin etc and there is a bewildering array available. At present I have a 34.9mm Seat tube. Top Pull 9 Speed XT Mech.
What does this conventional mallarkey that CRC mention mean? What do I need to be aware of? Is there a top normal front mech equivalent etc?

Interesting really. I got a top swing XT mech as part of a groupset a couple of years ago and never had an issues with it. Only got replaced as the mounting bolt snapped off after 2 years. Replaced it with the same again as I knew no better and went like for like....guess if it goes I will use a conventional if they are better as it is not as if I have a full suss that needs the clearance.
SLX double e-type fit front mechs seem to be like rocking horse shit 🙁

As in snapped off leaving most of it and the bottom of the thread. Ended up getting it drilled and rethreaded, but needed a replacement pronto.
