you're allowed to spend c2w on multiple things, so I think I'd get a

top line blood (3.5k)
carbon road bike (1k)
carbon xc bike (2k)
lid, some beefy locks, some nice lights (£500)

Ohh if we're splitting it.........

£1600 Spesh pitch
£550 CCDB
£??? Fox Float36 RC2
£250 Flows on pro2
£1000 XTR Di2 (or whatever it costs)
= £4250 or thereabouts but you can flog the original forks, wheels, shock for ~£500

£250 Free agent Ambush (24" cruiser)

£1100 Frame off the Dave Yates framebuilding course
£600 race wheels
Leaving about £800 to finish the build with middling stuff.

I'd budget £2.5k on a bike that you'll still be able to afford like for like replacement of worn out parts with and put £3.5k into an ISA. The remaining £500 would be spent on my significant other.
