Just got a mega tr frame and it looks like it has a bolt on mech mount (or maybe it's just for a chain guide) but no cable guides on the frame. Is this right or can it be done?

It is a mech mount and the guides run on the underside of the top tube.
Mine came with a choice of double guides for a front mech and dropper or single guides. Also on the back of the seat tube is a mount that accepts a C clip thing to hold the cable coming down to the mech.

Yep should be a bag of guides in the box

Right, still struggling with this. I don't see how the c clip thing on the back of the seat tube is of any use. It needs to be an actual cable stop to tension against... Right?

Cable stop is built into the direct mount front mech.

The cable outer will run directly to the front mech

Just make sure you have a 2x10 mech. 3x10 will foul the swingarm as the cage is longer
