This arrived too late to get built up and photographed for this week’s FGF. So you’ll just have to wait and see what it is.

20p says it’s a Megamo Reason, the bike on which Seb Stott said he’d never used the brakes so much on climbs

How high is too high?

In my younger days I was once so high I forgot I'd ordered a pizza, then hid when the delivery guy rang the doorbell.

Never that high I'd pay £450 for cranks though!

And if your cranks are too lightweight they'll sell you a £200 axle to make them heavier.

I bought a Race Face Deus crankset for £215 back in 2006, which according to the Bank of England's inflation calculator is £376.29 today, so closer to that £450 crank's price than I expected. On the other hand that crank came with an axle, a bottom bracket (granted and awful one) and three chainrings, plus it was 15mm longer! 😆

I have the cranks (and ti chainring), but 170mm and pedally bike. Was those or a grand for some eewings (or ti 5Dev's) tbf.

It has been said (on here) that they look shit (clashing silver), but I like em

I won't lie, I've considered CC ee-wings. I just don't have a bike that would really suit them.

If I do my next potential build of a Ti Radical Chilli Dog (or a Switch9er Ti HT if they bring out a Gen V) I reckon I might get some

I had the same problem with pedal strikes on my Levo SL Gen 2 and ended up fitting a pair of the 155mm Specialized cranks that were fitted as standard on the Kids Turbo Levo SL. I was assured that these cranks were the same spec and strength as those fitted to the adult SLs. They were only £80 and have been fine so far.

So is that an radial then? He says it is, but the schwalbe ones aren't, they're just a more obtuse bias ply.

Random thing I learned recently is that specialized have been varying the angles of their bias plies for years, they just didn't really think it was worth mentioning. Makes me wonder if anyone else does. I've never ridden a specialized tyre that really like the schwalbe radials though.

Their Ti ones are £1,500. And they sell plenty.

Are the socks nice and thick or disappointingly thin like most winter socks?

Those socks look decent enough. I'm struggling to find a thick pair of winter socks. Latest attempt was some Howies boot socks. Merino, and good quality but disappointingly thin for boot socks. Still got cold toes.

That Park Tools mug caught my eye, too.

Is that a raz mag blurred out?

£450 for a pair of crank arms. It’s not even a full crank. No wonder the industry is not selling stuff

Going full 29 made the crank strike issue on my SL2 go away.
